Summary

We will make the following improvements for Display Ads campaign goal “app promotion.”

Change add creatives screen and setting items

We will change the add creatives screen of Campaign goal “app promotion.” Changes will be as follows:

  • Add a new item “subtype”
    Appears when applying “app promotion” and you can select “standard” or “install.” This allows you to create more effective campaigns.
    * App promotion campaigns created before the launch date will have the subtype “standard” applied.
  • Change app select screen
    We will change which apps to apply to the campaigns. You will select from the apps associated in advance in the “App & tool connection.” This will prevent typing mistakes and you will be able to create correct campaigns.

We will also change add creatives screens of ad group and ad. Refer to the document (available in Japanese) linked in “Comments” for details. The English document will be ready soon.

Add subtype "Install" (beta)

We will add subtype “install” (beta) to the campaign goal “app promotion.”
When you select “install,” settings will be optimized to get more app installs.
You will also be required to set up items to measure effectiveness. You will be able to measure the effectiveness of your campaigns correctly.

Notes
  • Automatic tagging must be turned on in your Display Ads account to use the subtype “install.” See the following help page for details.
    Auto-tagging
  • If the subtype of the campaign goal is “install” and the “preferred install tracking method” is “SKAdNetwork,” the bidding option must be set to Viewable cost per mille (vCPM).
    ”Viewable cost per mille (vCPM)” is in the beta version, and its behavior isn't stable.
