Summary

Yahoo! JAPAN Ads Display Ads (Auction) will no longer provide site category targeting. The discontinuation of the service is intended to improve the situation where it is easy to get confused about how to use placement targeting, which is functionally similar, and to clarify the use of each type of targeting. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation to further improve our services.

The discontinuation will be phased in. The schedule details are as follows:

Terminate the following features of site category targeting:

  • New settings
  • Editing existing settings
  • Settings and editing by import function

*It is still possible to cancel the site category targeting.

Scheduled for early April, 2025

*Detailed dates will be announced as soon as they are determined.

Terminate all site category targeting features.

  • If an ad group has site category targeting, remove the site category targeting setting and change the delivery setting to off.
  • The site category-targeting list screen will be hidden.
  • In the Placement targeting list creation and editing screen, the site category filtering feature will no longer be available.

If you are using category targeting, consider changing your settings to one of the following:

  • The "Site category name" item in the performance report will be removed after a certain time after site category targeting is discontinued. The schedule will be announced as soon as it is decided.
