Overview:

Conversions via video view on Display Ads (Auction) have changed to be used for autobidding and ad quality. Creating a new conversion setting have some changes according to this update.

"For optimize autobidding"

We have added conversions via video view to the ad delivery performance used to optimize bid for the following autobidding and campaign goals.

  • Autobidding to be changed
     -Maximize conversions with target value
     -Maximize conversions without target value
  • Campaign goals to be changed
     -Conversions
     -App promotion
     -PayPay Gifts *Only available for specific advertisers.

"Conversions via video view" is the conversions that is counted after user’s video viewing but no ad clicks. Because of no charge by ad clicks, this conversion was previously excluded from the target to be used for bid optimization.
After the use of video ads increased, we conducted a test using conversions via video view for autobidding. And we confirmed the effectiveness such as improving the accuracy of automation and increasing the number of conversions. For this reason, conversion via video view will be used for optimization. This change will increase accuracy of autobidding and improve the advertising effect.

"For ad quality"

We have added the conversions via video view as a factor used for ad quality. This change will increase the ad quality for both manual and auto bidding, and is expected to increase the impressions.

"Default values for conversion settings"

We have changed the specifications for creating a new conversion setting as follows.

  • The default value of "counting period (video view)"
     [Before] 1 day
     [After] 3 days
     *This will not affect conversion settings created prior to the implementation date.

Remarks:

  • The ad delivery trends, etc, may change along with the impact of conversions via video view, and with the impact on the ad quality and autobidding by the release of modeled conversions that is scheduled on the same day. For more about “modeled conversions,” see the following article.
