Overview:

We are planning to renew the audience targeting feature.
Audience targeting refers to the following targetings:

・Audience category targeting
・Search keyword targeting
・Audience list targeting

As part of the renewal of audience targeting, we first consolidated "audience category targeting" into "audience list targeting." In addition, we plan to consolidate "search keyword targeting" into "audience list targeting" in the future.
In this announcement, we will inform details on the renewal of audience category targeting and the related feature discontinuation.
*Details on search keyword targeting will be informed at a later date.

Consolidate audience category targeting into audience list targeting

Overview

In audience category targeting currently available, you select a category and set it in an ad group, but after this renewal, you will make settings in audience list targeting.
After this release, the "common audience list," which lists audience categories, was added to the audience list targeting. You can select the target list from this common audience list and set it to the ad group for ad delivery.

■Common audience list type
 There are following three types of common audience lists.

 ・Affinity
 ・In-market
 ・Attributes and life events


Because it is set as one of the audience list targeting, if other types of lists, such as "website visitors" is also set, it will be delivered with a combination of OR conditions (if any of the conditions meet the ad will be delivered). These settings allow ad delivery to an amassed user group.
You can also specify a common audience list and other lists in "audience list (combination)" to deliver adds with a combination of AND condition (if all apply, ads will be delivered). Thus, this renewal of the audience targeting allows for flexible ad delivery.

Remarks

・The method of configuration have changed, but the basic features of targeting have no change.
・We also supported "audience analysis report" that visualizes the characteristics of target users. Until now, you were able to set only one audience list for Display Ads (Guaranteed), but after this release, you will be able to set multiple audience lists just like Display Ads (Auction). Note that the common audience list will be available for the Display Ads (Guaranteed) products after April 2023.

Discontinue audience category targeting

Overview

We will discontinue offering audience category targeting around autumn 2023.
Accordingly, existing settings of audience category targeting will be automatically migrated to audience list targeting.
Specific scheduled date will be informed as soon as determined.
